Giving Under The Rain on a Friday Night (28th March 2014)
As it isn't always a sunny Sunday, we only manage to have five volunteers this time since it was also the month for filial duties. Some of our volunteers were away for Ching Ming while others were devoured by work. Splendid luck we had this time with less volunteers in one hand and daunting weather on the other. To break the dry spell, it decided to rain finally but it has to be with such precise timing.

We started our journey from Old Town PJ as usual where the weather and all seemed flawless. One of our clients in Old Town PJ also expressed her feelings of vulnerability to attacks and snatch thief. After Old Town we continued our night's quest to Kuala Lumpur where we were greeted by the pouring rain. Ignited by the flames of perseverance we ignored the weather and battled through the night like there is no tomorrow with the goal of distributing all our 50 packs of food. On the menu for the night would be vegetarian fried rice and stewed hard boiled eggs cooked by Sister Elsie, Apollo cakes contributed by Sister Annie Lee and husband Brother Soon, South African Royal Gala Apples and bottled drinking water. Mini towels contributed by Sister Annie Lee and Brother Soon were also given out that night. We at TDG Charitable Society sincerely express our gratitude towards Sister Annie Lee and husband Brother Soon for not only helping but for contributing so much goodies that night as well.
Due to the rain, we were not able to locate our clients at the usual spots around Bangkok Bank area and along Petaling Street .We were needed to do some seeking as they where shying away from the rain. Most of them were resting their worn-out vessels along the vacant five foot ways hoping not to be soaked by the drenching rain. Soaked in rain our group of five volunteers moved on towards Pudu Market. We were sadden to see our clients frizzled by the cold chilly weather and had nothing in our means to help. If only we had warm fluffy blankets for them to cuddle on.
Pudu Market noted our last stop for the night where we manage to distribute all 50 packets of food despite the fact of having bad weather. All efforts by our volunteers that night were much appreciated and much needed. We hope to see Sister Annie Lee and husband Brother Soon more often in the future.

A Small Contribution to Second Chance ( Paws Mission) on the 9th of March 2014
It wasn't my will to be brought to this dreadful sphere,
Consumed by brutality and was I always hiding in fear,
Did anybody ever came to help or is there even anybody here?
Beaten, chased and kicked till the end,
Dogs are kept as pets through out the land,
Why am I unwanted I really don't understand.
Till the next morning I may not stand a chance,
If not for you "Second Chance",
Where before I was only a glance.
I am now feed, bathed and cleaned,
Strangers come and won't mind if I leaned,
If I'm good they will take me home to their inn.

From the entrance, this is what you will see "doggy playground". What seems like some shabby store is actually sanctuary to the many strays that were rescued.

| The dogs were so excited to receive us and were screaming out of excitement like in a rock concert. |

With a compassionate heart towards all leaving beings, we at TDG Charitable Society decided to pay Second Chance (formerly known as Paws Mission) a visit while bringing along a small contribution of dog food and detergent. The shelter is located along Old Klang Road and houses close to 350 strays according to Miss Mun Yee one of the shelter's frequent volunteer. According to her, the shelter will be moving out soon as the current premise will be acquired for development. We will definitely return to this shelter in the future and we hope to contribute more if possible.

The Homeless
Extremely happy was I today to have 7 people in total helping out with the distribution rounds. Neglecting the heavy haze and hot weather, all 7 of us made our rounds from Old Town PJ to Bangkok Bank area to Petaling Street at hours where for most people will be in dreamland. Our usual clients from Old Town PJ which normally greets us coldly shown some warmth today. Was it that they were beginning to understand our doings or was it a result of the extremely hot weather that we are experiencing now?
From Old Town PJ we charged our way to KL hoping to distribute more since we prepared 50 packs of food this time if compared to the previous session of only 35 packets. Applauds to WY. Wong who prepared the food entirely alone. Although it was simple food of fried rice with sweet and sour hard boiled egg, we adhere closely to the principle of only serving food that we eat. I really hope to receive more support in terms of food contributions and volunteers in the future in order to reach out to more people.

The Homeless Ones
We were really grateful that two new volunteers joined us for our night distribution this time.We hope they can join us more often in the future. We did not manage to find two of our usual clients in section 14 PJ McDonalds and PJ state. We also did not manage to find as many clients as we previously did in Old Town Pj area. However we manage to bump into a new client which was searching for food among the piles of rubbish at a junction near the Old Town bus station.
For the first time, we distributed food at the open park located close to Bangkok Bank KL. We manage to distribute about 20 packets of food at the park but the pictures taken were not as clear since the surrounding was dark. From the park, we moved to Petaling Street while distributing more food along the way when ever we spot any clients.
A total of 35 packets of food were distributed that night and each packet included 1 packet of vegetarian fried rice with hard-boiled egg in sweet and sour sauce, 1 mandarin orange since Chinese New Year is just around the corner, and 1 bottle of drinking water. We hope to increase the amount of food to be distributed in the future since we spotted more clients but we were out of food and since there were only four of us this time, we felt the need for more volunteers to ensure the safety of everyone.
